Today we have Leslie Taylor and DJ Kool in the Infinity Sounds Special Edition. We think it's gonna be a very special show, but we got him for a chat before the show.
This is gonna be your last performance on xelestia.com this year. How does that feel ?
It's always a very good feeling to get behind the decks on monday nights, I love the radio and our listeners. The atmosphere is always great with our guest too, they always come with a very pleasant and unique sound. I love doing this and will be doing it for quite some time.
Lot of things happened to you in the Infinity Sounds series. Can you subscribe the best moments?
In Justmusic.fm there was my birthday in march, it was a great show, ad we had a record number of listeners. I'm very proud that we could get together so many big name dj's. It was a great feeling and also the music was amazing... no comment... And there was the Infinity Sound show birthday party too. The Next big ones were the DOKK (The Dokk is famous hungarian club) gigs for me. It was HUGE. All Infinity shows were great, i really had a good year.
Not long ago we started a special show on Infinity, and suddenly there was a request from Mexico too.
You have a little different approach on Xelestia radio. Why is that?
It was my first request from abroad so I did not want to make a regular sounding mix. I tried to do something different so that the listeners can really dig into it. We had a great response from Abroad as well as from Hungary. I'm glad that i'm on Xelestia radio frequently.
How you doing with the more melodic tracks, are they close to you as well?
Yes yes. I've made a mix for Andy Slate's show last time, and i prefer that sort of sets on Xelestia too. But i'm not pigeon holed i like vocal stuff as well. You can here that in my sets, you can't always push it hard. I think i have a close relation to these kind of music but i can do main time sets as well of course.
What defines what you play at the given moment?
Mostly it depends on my mood,also what sort of new music is out there.Normally i play fresh stuff and sometimes there aren't many great new music out ,so it's not easy to get a set together as i'm very picky.
You mentioned last year that you're into producing as well, how that going?
Not very well at this moment, didn't quite reach the level yet. I had a lot if things to do recently,also i just moved to a new place. But of course i;m trying to focus on this too.
We have the Festive season now.What are your plans for Xmas?
Tell me about it! It's just running from shops to shops it's so tiring,so i the pass the job to my girlfriend. I don't usually leave it for the last moment,it takes a lot of time ,but there is a magic about xmas.
Do you think back on the year 2011? How do you sum up the last year?
The 2011 year was a great year for me.Her is the Infinity Sounds on justmusic.fm,which has the biggest listeners base.We got into Mexico's xelestia show,where they have big djs as well,or they have residencies.
I feel quite honoured. There were international radio mix requests too. I've had many great gigs too.
Dokk club, Dokkolo. I think i've had a great year no complains.
You have a new year's resolution?
I always have one.Sometimes i can keep it too. This year's resolution : more sports !!
Where are you gonna spend the new year's eve?
I'll be with my friends on a private house party sort of thing.
